It seems that with the heightened levels of stress business people are presented with everyday, what had been an oddity for the office suite is fast becoming a staple. I’m referring to a unique piece of executive furniture previously left to the living room of a home. That is of course the recliner. Long thought of as simply a place to fall asleep while watching television, the recliner or barcolounger if you will has been converted to office use by means of its recreation using much more stylish and contemporary lines. Perhaps this was the original intent of Charles Eames when he created this famous recliner and ottoman. Certainly executive furniture today follows the design elements of the famous Eames chair.
We see today, adjustable padded armrests, lumbar supports, and shall we say additional padding for those of us now carrying a bit more weight. Hopefully both the occupants and the executive furniture itself will continue to attempt to be more streamlined as recliners become more of a mainstream executive office suite ingredient.
